Our Story
The story of Callie and Alex starts where all great, modern-day romances do… Hinge. After several years of Alex playing too much golf, traveling and having fun, he was finally convinced by his brother-in-law to join a dating app in early 2023. Callie had recently joined the app as well, and despite having several mutual friends and TCU ties, they are both convinced that without Hinge they likely would not have met.
First dates, especially when somewhat “blind,” tend to have a moment or two of awkwardness. Thankfully, Alex and Callie instantly connected! Conversations about family, faith and sports all flowed effortlessly. To Alex’s surprise, Callie knew much more about the NFL and TCU football. The next few dates included bowling, walks on the Katy trail, pickleball and good dinners. Amongst all the fun, both Alex and Callie were clear with their intentions, they were dating to find a lifelong partner.
The couple grew close rather quickly. Callie’s warm heart, soft smile, and natural beauty knocked Alex off his feet. He vividly remembers early on thinking this girl is too good to be true. Callie took a liking to Alex’s fun personality and the respectful nature in which he treated her. After 2 months of getting to know each other, Alex and Callie were officially together and starting their journey.
Seeing as both Callie and Alex love to travel, the Summer of 2023 was full of trips for the couple. This allowed them to get to know each, and their families, all too well. The inaugural trip for the couple was Mexico City, one they will never forget. Callie tagged along with the Torda and Proctor gang in Carmel, CA over the July 4th holiday. Alex met Callie’s parents, Brad and Shawn, for the first time in Napa, CA to celebrate her Dad’s birthday. Between the flights, food and fine wine, the experiences over this time unquestionably brought them closer to each other, and those most important to them.
For those who know Callie and Alex, they know that the Fall is for football. Despite a tough year for all their teams (TCU, Cowboys, and Raiders) the couple had endless amounts of fun attending many of these events. The Holiday Season brought more time with family and friends, along with a commitment in the New Year to start a per-martial class through Watermark Church.
Fast forward to March of 2024. Alex and Callie had completed their 8-week pre-marital course and were heading to Aspen to experience the majestic town together. Having asked Callie’s parents for her hand a few weeks prior in Palm Spring, Alex knew this weekend would solidify the next steps in their journey. On the afternoon of March 16th, Alex got down on one knee and asked Callie to marry him. With tears in her eyes, Callie said Yes and made Alex the happiest man in the world.
